Lazare Review
After reading the review of Bury the Chains by Lazare I found that instead of crtiqueing the book he spent more time summarizing it. Majority of the review consisted of character descriptions and events that we have already heard about from our readings. The review allows you to better understand what the book will be about yet does not give much of Lazare's opinion on how the book actually was. He claims that Hochschild celebrates the white middle class as having all of the power in their society. It was only a matter of them coming together for a change to occurr. Whether this may be true or not I do not think that Hochschild celebrated this as much as Lazare makes it appear. The review should have emphasized more on opinion such as this rather than the facts that we have already gotten from the book.
